God birthed a vision for a charismatic work in Chico in Pastor Scott Dowell's life while on vacation in Hawaii in June 2002. God woke Pastor Scott up early in the morning before sunrise and spoke a vision of what God wanted to do in Chico. The concept of Sonrise Christian Center was birthed that morning.
Sonrise Christian Center Assembly of God had its first service on September 12, 2004. Since that time, the Fellowship has seen God do tremendous things in the lives of our adherents. We continue to trust in the Lord for salvations, healings and spiritual breakthroughs until Christ returns!

Our Children’s mission is to lay a foundation so that each child will know they are loved and treasured by God. We want them to be followers of Christ and grow to love, know and serve Him.
Kids are encouraged to learn about God in contemporary real-life situations. Kids are encouraged to memorize God's word through weekly bible verses.
